Made from cement paper, like all of our other great products: Fused for strength and coated (with an environmentally friendly treatment) to be water resistant.
What we did differently here is we used a single layer of paper and fabric. This keeps it super slim.
With time, the wallet takes on it’s own personality. If the Slim Wallet lives in the back pocket of your jeans it will take on some of the denim dye. It takes on it’s own beautiful character and durability is in no way compromised.
Features: This wallet is made from a single piece of paper that is folded. We call it Origami Reimagined! There are 4 pockets and you can choose which one you want to use for notes, cards or train passes. Up to 12 cards fit in the wallet and even then it is only 15mm thick.
About Optical Africa
A few years ago Wendren visited the Escher Museum in The Netherlands and left resolving to develop a range that would create a trickery similar to so many of Escher’s works. Upon returning to African soil she found that many African printed textiles had a similar intrigue that captures you as you learn about the fable, story or message that is being portrayed. Marrying these two inspirations, the Optical Africa concept was born.
Wendren wrote to graphic artist Diana Ejaita: “Wren sleeves and bags are a wooden door to an electronic world. Our products are a tactile adventure and we want it to engage all the senses: touch, sight, and now the mind, as we bring another level of wonder to our products with this new range.”
