Teal Laptop Sleeve

Made from reclaimed packaging paper, like all of our other great products. Treated in the same way to be strong and durable.

How do we make them? Reclaimed white paper is collected from a local packaging factory. The paper is screen-printed, fused to a special cotton that makes it strong enough to stitch and then coated with Nano Liquid Glass to be water resistant. Yes, it is just paper, but paper with science!

And there is more: There are two pockets – one for the device and the other for pens, papers, cables – or whatever you wish to use a second pocket for. To close, the laptop sleeve has a hidden press-stud in the centre that ensures that your laptop is kept snug and safe in it’s sleeve. There are also two hidden magnets that hold the flap corners down to keep it looking smart.

More about this range: The Promenade in Sea Point is one of designer Heather Moore’s a favourite places in Cape Town, because there is just so much to see. Waves & surfers, paragliders & windblown trees, pram pushers & wheelchairs, dogs & joggers all make up a passing parade that’s one of the enduring pleasures of Cape Town life, & one that’s free for all to enjoy.

Alongside the passing parade, the Promenade has a wealth of midcentury architecture, which adds a particular charm to the stretch of Beach Road from Mouille Point to Three Anchor Bay.

After years of walking, driving, cycling (and once even rollerblading) past the mosaic wall of the public bathrooms on Beach Road, Skinny laMinx designer Heather Moore stopped to sketch the design, and realised that it was the first time she’d looked at it properly.

The result of taking the time to slow down and look closely at this unnamed piece of midcentury public art is the PROMENADE collaboration with The Wren Design.

This new collection of the Wren’s signature paper laptop sleeves, bags and wallets are screenprinted with two designs – MEANDER and PROMENADE – in playful colours that express the freewheeling joy of an aimless summer stroll along the Sea Point Promenade.

“Take a Story With You” is the Wren’s slogan, and the story of the PROMENADE collaboration with Skinny laMinx is reminder to slow down and take note of the everyday beauty available for all to see.
