Meet The Team
Wren exists because of the people who make it. We are a collective of thinkers, designers and makers, working together to create thoughtfully made pieces with care and intention.
Our studio is largely female-led, reflecting the realities of the craft and stitch industry, which has long been shaped by women’s skill and labour. We value every person who contributes to Wren — each voice, perspective, and set of hands plays a meaningful role in the balance and growth of the business.
At the heart of Wren is a commitment to creating stable, sustainable work for everyone connected to the studio. We believe good work environments are built on trust, fairness, and mutual respect — and that people thrive when they’re supported to grow.
That means long-term partnerships, honest communication and a space for learning and skill development. Because when the people behind the work are cared for, the work itself becomes stronger.
WENDREN
Wren was founded by Wendren Setzer in 2008 after she stepped away from her role as a textile designer to pursue a more thoughtful, hands-on approach to design. What began with making a handbag for herself soon evolved into a business rooted in material innovation, craftsmanship, and a deep care for people and planet.
Today, while her heart remains in the studio, Wendren’s mission has expanded into an advisory role for businesses and creatives, sharing the practical lessons learned from building a brand based on authenticity and transparency.
She leads with the belief that the strength of a product is a direct reflection of the stability of its environment, and that businesses thrive when they prioritize the people behind the work.
By guiding others to navigate the balance between commercial success and human-centric values, Wendren inspires a commitment to the "Wren way"—proving that when a business is led with integrity and mutual respect, the work itself becomes a legacy.
Gena McPhun

Gena keeps the studio running smoothly across admin and operations, bringing curiosity and care to both creative projects and technical processes.
She’s also the person you’re most likely to connect with via email, and her calm, organised, customer-focused approach ensures every interaction feels seamless - something we deeply value at Wren.
