Between Here and There
At Wren, we believe that art is a powerful way to reimagine the world around us. Our latest artist collaboration, “Between Here and There”, explores the moments and environments that define these places.
Through this collection, 4 artists share their personal interpretations of the theme, exploring physical, emotional, and conceptual spaces. Their works have been transformed into art on Wren’s iconic, eco-friendly accessories.
Each piece in the “Between Here and There” collection is a canvas for these unique artworks, screen-printed or digitally printed onto Wren’s signature products. From sustainable paper wallets to versatile laptop sleeves, these accessories bring art into your daily life.
This collection bridges art, design, and sustainability – creating meaningful, functional pieces that inspire creativity and reflection.
Amy-Lee Tak
Amy-Lee Tak is a self-taught artist with over six years of painting experience. Based in Woodstock, Cape Town, Amy-Lee paints from her cosy shared studio, guided by a love for rich, vibrant colours. Her art playfully explores womanhood, unapologetic rest, and the ongoing pursuit of comfort in one’s own skin.
Amy-Lee’s whimsical, idealised portrayals of femininity are deeply personal, reflecting her own journey toward softness, self-love, and the beauty of being imperfectly human. Through her work, she combines current cultural references and self-deprecating humour to create relatable pieces that connect with modern audiences.
Her unique style captures the gentle balance between introspection and humour, inviting viewers to explore the vulnerability and strength that coexist in everyday life.
Kristen McClarty
Kristen McClarty is a South African printmaker based in the coastal town of Kommetjie, Cape Town. With a background in law and a former career in corporate law, Kristen’s artistic journey began in 2011, evolving into a full-fledged exploration of printmaking in 2016. Initially experimenting with drypoint and linocut techniques, Kristen found her passion in woodcut printmaking in 2021.
Her work delves into themes of memory and space, drawing inspiration from the natural patterns and textures of woodgrain. Each piece celebrates the unique surface of the wood, which she incorporates into her final prints. Kristen’s work has been widely exhibited in South Africa and the United Kingdom and is held in private collections around the world, as well as public collections such as ArtBank South Africa (2022, 2023/2024).
Kristen’s practice is deeply rooted in storytelling through abstraction, allowing viewers to connect with her work on a personal, introspective level.
