I bet you are wondering how fashion and cement mix. Although excited, I am not 100% sure how… but after Suzann Heyns show at SA Fashion Week this weekend it should be a whole lot clearer.
Suzann Heyns is a Johannesburg-based fashion design whose label has been described as “having an architectural sentiment that has a feminine twist”. In the collection that is going to be shown for the first time on Saturday she works with concrete from PPC as a new fabric. Intrigued?
As part of this cement wonderland WREN’s PPC Cement Laptop Bags will be part of the show – some lucky few even get to take one home (AND they are out of the new PPC Cement Packaging which are net yet available for sale).
Pretoria Portland Cement has been involved with competitions and projects that involve creativity, innovation and imagination for a long time. For example, they have their Young Concrete Sculptor Awards (YCSA) and now Fashion Week. As Sibongile Mooko, PPC’s General Manager: Marketing Services, says “At PPC Cement we say, if you can imagine it, our products have the strength to support it,”.
