HOW IT IS MADE: An unused Pretoria Portland Cement paper bag is the beginning of each piece. (Have a look at www.ppc.co.za to see the original packaging.) The bags are donated to WREN by PPC as overruns or misprints (we do not use “used” cement packaging bags).
Production takes a while for these bags, but it’s worth it. We separate the layers of the packaging bag, remove the top and third layer of the bag and fuse these to our fabric that makes this material strong. Once the “material” is prepared we trace the pattern, cut it by hand, and stitch the bag together. The last process is coating the bag with environmentally-friendly Nano Liquid Glass to make it water resistant.
More information about Wren’s paper, coating, printing, and packaging can be found here.

What a beautiful piece of work. The craftsmanship is impeccable. Even the paper bag in which they send my laptop bag is a piece of great design. This is my second order of the same cement laptop bag, except I change the color. And here is the thing, when is new is just gorgeous but when it starts to age it transform into a unique piece. It just gets better with time.

This is a very nice bag I bought for my wife. It fits her laptop nicely. Well made and, as you can see, these bags are cool. It arrived swiftly considering it came from around the world, and the sellers were nice enough to include some handmade cards/envelopes made from old maps. Well done.

I love your laptop bags. I use them every day, so I’ve been through a few over the years by now :) And people tend to approach me about them on the street – even total strangers.

When I lived in Johannesburg about 8 years ago I bought 2 of your cement laptop bags. I’ve used your bags daily and I’ve been super impressed, they still look great! I actually think they look even better now than when they were brand new.
